NaNoWriMo is just upon us! The month of November, or just two days away, is the National Novel Writing Month.
The point of NaNoWriMo is to create a 50,000 word novel in a month. Every night, as a schedule, you write about 1,700 words to 2,000, on a regular schedule and by the end of the month you have your 50,000 word novel. It takes a lot of dedication and hard work, but NaNoWriMo is something that can let you grow as an author and write into new ways that you never would have guessed.
Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It's all about quantity, not quality. The deadline approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly.
On the website they have a lot of resources, such as pep talks, cartoons, published NaNoWriMo novels, and forums to talk to other people. The entire website is about getting you as a write all the help you need or want to make it through the month and write your novel.
Their website: nanowrimo.org/ (Adults) ywp.nanowrimo.org/ (Under 18)
My username on both the Adult and the Under 18 website is The-Golden-Sunrise, so at any time if you want to participate and get help with your novel, feel free to add me as a buddy and ask me for help.
